Being in the stands and standing in the arc felt odd…I mean I went to 1 live DCI show before I did corps, but this was different because I was part of corps, a family.

I was standing behind PC as they warmed-up and ran into a PC alumnus, who helped me with my 2012 fees. He then told me that I should go over there behind Tim in the arc and sit down. “I’m kinda shy though…” and it would be well..weird because there were only 2 other people there. He got me to go when he asked if his 5 y/o son if he wanted to go to the arc with him and I tagged along.

The 2 alumni standing in the arc were, PC’s DM from 2009-2011, Mark Kveton, and a guy that played euph/bari from 2005-2010. I’ve seen Mark, but never really got a chance to speak with him. While standing in the arc with them I actually managed to actually have a conversation with the two of them which was pretty cool. That’s the thing that I like about drum corps, no matter what year you marched, every member is family.
